How to Create a Port Booking on Shipper-Wajeeh Guide
This guide walks you through creating a booking on when your shipment originates from or is delivered to a port location. Port-based bookings follow the same 3-step flow — Trip Details, Cargo Details, and Payment — with container-specific fields unlocked when a port is selected as your pickup location.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following ready:
Pickup port and delivery location
Truck type and number of trucks required
Load weight per truck
Pickup date and time
Container details — size, shipping line, and container number
Loader and receiver contact details
Payment method — Wajeeh Credit or Wallet
Step 1 — Trip Details
1.1 Select Your Booking Type
At the top of the Trip Details page, choose how you want to book:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Book instantly at platform-listed rates | Choose from standard, transparent rates published by the platform and confirm your booking right away |
Book using pre-decided deal rates | Access exclusive prices pre-negotiated for you — applicable with specific or all carriers for faster, hassle-free bookings |
Select the option that best suits your needs.
1.2 Select the Trip Type
Under What kind of trip is this?, select either:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Domestic | Trips between cities within the same country |
Cross-Border | Shipments across international borders |
Click your preferred trip type — it will be highlighted in blue to confirm your selection.
1.3 Enter Route Details
Fill in your trip route:
From location — select your pickup location. When you select a port (e.g. Dammam Port · ميناء الدمام), a 🚢 port icon will appear below the field, confirming it has been recognised as a port location.
To location — select your delivery destination (e.g. Riyadh · الرياض)
The port icon appears automatically beneath the From location field whenever a port is selected. No action is needed — it is a visual confirmation only.
Click Add GPS Coordinates → if you want to provide precise pickup or drop-off coordinates for the driver.
1.4 Select Truck and Load Details
Under What's your cargo, what truck suits it best, and how many trucks are required?, click the ✏️ edit icon on the Truck & Load card to configure:
Truck type — e.g. Flatbed
Load type — e.g. Steel
Container type — e.g. Container, Pallets, 40 Ton
Then fill in:
Field | Description |
|---|---|
No. of Trucks | Enter the number of trucks required (e.g. 1) |
Load in Truck | Enter the load weight per truck in tonnes (e.g. 35 TON) |
1.5 Set Pickup Date and Time
Under When should the trip start?, click the Pickup Date & Time field and select your preferred date and time (e.g. 23/05/2026, 12:07 PM).
The Pickup Date & Time field is required. The form will not proceed without a valid date and time selected. The field will be highlighted in red if left empty.
Click Continue → to proceed to Cargo Details.
Step 2 — Cargo Details
2.1 Choose When to Provide Cargo Information
Under Cargo Details, select when you want to fill in detailed cargo information:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Fill Now | Enter full cargo details immediately during booking |
Add Later | Skip cargo details now and add them after the booking is created |
2.2 Enter Cargo Type Details
If you select Fill Now, fill in the following fields:
Field | Description |

Cargo Type | Select the type of cargo (e.g. Pallet) |
Pallet Size | Select the pallet size (e.g. Half Pallet 600 × 800) |
No. of Units | Enter the number of units (e.g. 1) |
Weight | Enter the weight per truck in tonnes (e.g. 4 Ton) |
Click + Add Cargo if you need to add multiple cargo lines.
You can also tick Pallets/boxes can be stacked on top of each other during transport if applicable.
2.3 Container Requirements
Under Container Requirements, toggle on "Is your cargo in a shipping container?" if your shipment involves a container.
Once enabled, three required fields appear:
Field | Description |
|---|---|
Container Size | Select the container size from the dropdown (e.g. 40 Feet) |
Shipping Line | Select the shipping line handling the container (e.g. COSCO) |
Container Number | Enter the unique container reference number (e.g. DKF0304FK34) |
All three container fields are required when the container toggle is enabled. The form will highlight them in red if left empty.
You can also tick the following additional options if applicable:
Return an empty container to shipping line after the delivery — tick this if the empty container needs to be returned to the shipping line post-delivery
Requires Container Slip — tick this if a container slip document is needed for this shipment
2.4 Additional Services
Under Additional Services, select any extra requirements for your shipment:
Service | Description |
|---|---|

Special Handling (fragile, hazardous) | For cargo that needs extra care during transport |
Custom and Permit Handling | Required for shipments needing customs clearance or special permits |
Would you like to insure this shipment? | Add shipment insurance for added protection |
For port-based or cross-border bookings, it is strongly recommended to tick Custom and Permit Handling to ensure compliance with port and border requirements.
Click Continue → to proceed to Payment.
Step 3 — Payment
3.1 Enter Loader and Receiver Details
