How to Create a Cross-Border Booking on Wajeeh — Complete Shipper Guide
Cross-border bookings on Wajeeh allow you to arrange shipments across international borders. The booking process follows the same 3-step flow as a domestic booking — Trip Details, Cargo Details, and Payment — with a few additional fields specific to cross-border shipments such as container requirements and customs handling.
Overview
A cross-border booking is used for shipments that travel across international borders. When creating this type of booking, you will select Cross-Border as the trip type in Step 1, and the platform will guide you through the additional requirements.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following ready:
Pickup and delivery locations
Truck type and number of trucks required
Load weight per truck
Pickup date and time
Container details if applicable (container size, shipping line, container number)
Loader and receiver contact details
Payment method — Wajeeh Credit or Wallet
Step 1 — Trip Details
1.1 Select Your Booking Type
At the top of the Trip Details page, choose how you want to book:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Book instantly at platform-listed rates | Choose from standard transparent rates published by the platform and confirm your booking right away |
Book using pre-decided deal rates | Access exclusive prices pre-negotiated for you — applicable with specific or all carriers for faster hassle-free bookings |
Select the option that best suits your needs.
1.2 Select Cross-Border as the Trip Type
Under What kind of trip is this?, you will see two options:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Domestic | Trips between cities within the same country |
Cross-Border | Shipments across international borders |
Click Cross-Border to select it. The option will be highlighted in blue confirming your selection.
1.3 Enter Route Details
Fill in the trip route:
From location — select your pickup city or area (e.g. Al Hamra - الحمراء)
To location — select your delivery destination (e.g. Jeddah - جدة)
Click Add GPS Coordinates if you want to provide precise pickup and drop-off coordinates for the driver.
1.4 Select Truck and Load Details
Under What's your cargo, what truck suits it best, and how many trucks are required?, click the edit icon on the Truck & Load card to configure:
Truck type — e.g. Flatbed
Load type — e.g. Steel
Container type — e.g. Container, Pallets, 40 Ton
Then fill in:
Field | Description |
|---|---|
No. of Trucks | Enter the number of trucks required (e.g. 1) |
Load in Truck | Enter the load weight per truck in tonnes (e.g. 35 TON) |
1.5 Set Pickup Date and Time
Under When should the trip start?, click the Pickup Date & Time field and select your preferred date and time (e.g. 22/05/2026, 06:16 PM).
The Pickup Date & Time field is required. The form will not proceed without a valid date and time selected.
Click Continue to proceed to Cargo Details.
Step 2 — Cargo Details
2.1 Choose When to Provide Cargo Information
Under Cargo Details, select when you want to fill in detailed cargo information:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Fill Now | Enter full cargo details immediately during booking |
Add Later | Skip cargo details now and add them after the booking is created |
2.2 Container Requirements
Under Container Requirements, toggle on "Is your cargo in a shipping container?" if your shipment involves a container.
Once enabled, three required fields appear:
Field | Description |
|---|---|
Container Size | Select the size of the container from the dropdown |
Shipping Line | Select the shipping line handling the container |
Container Number | Enter the unique container reference number |
All three container fields are required when the container toggle is enabled. The form will highlight them in red if left empty.
You can also tick Requires Container Slip if a container slip document is needed for this shipment.
2.3 Additional Services
Under Additional Services, select any extra requirements for your shipment:
Service | Description |
|---|---|
Require Proof of Delivery (POD) | Request a signed proof of delivery upon completion |
Special Handling | For fragile or hazardous cargo that needs extra care |
Custom and Permit Handling | Required for shipments that need customs clearance or special permits — particularly important for cross-border trips |
Would you like to insure this shipment? | Add shipment insurance for added protection |
For cross-border bookings, it is strongly recommended to tick Custom and Permit Handling to ensure your shipment complies with international border requirements.
Click Continue to proceed to Payment.
Step 3 — Payment
3.1 Enter Loader and Receiver Details
